Violence
And Aggression
This practice does not tolerate violence
or aggression. A patient committing an act of violence or aggression will be reported
to the police and he/she will be removed from our list of patients.
Alternative arrangements for the care of violent or aggressive patients will be provided by
the Isle of Wight Primary Care Trust.
Fees
for Private Work
There are
some types of certificates, forms and medical examinations which are not covered
by your doctor’s duties for the NHS. The doctor will decide if they will
undertake them and charge accordingly.
The British Medical Association
gives the doctors guidance regarding fees, and details are available at the Help
Desk. You may be asked to pay the charge before completion.

Services
They help with all kinds of social needs. Ring
the Cowes Social Services Centre on 291144 to contact the Care Manager and Community
Care Officers attached to the West Wight practice.

Patients who need information about National Health Dental Services should telephone the Dental Helpline on 0845 050 8345 between the hours of 8.30am to 9.30pm, seven days a week. The weekend and bank holiday emergency dental service is available on the same number.
Trying For A Baby
It is particularly important to eat a balanced diet, stop
smoking and reduce alcohol intake. Folic acid supplements should be taken to reduce
the risk of foetal abnormalities. |
